Squad
Apex Legends
Three people, one drop, and an ambitious plan that survives about forty seconds.
Casual squads for whoever is online and wants a few quick drops.

How it goes
Apex is our pick-up shooter. When enough people are online we form squads, drop somewhere loud and see how it goes. There is no ranked grind and no tryouts: the goal is a few fun matches, not a leaderboard position.
Skill levels vary wildly, from people who have played since launch to people who cannot remember the healing button. We play duos and trios, mix the squads up so nobody is stuck carrying, and swap to a different game when the losses pile up.
When we play
Ad hoc
Whoever is in voice forms a squad, usually in the evening.
Good to know
- Free to play on PC and console, though cross-play lobbies are mixed.
- A mic is strongly recommended, callouts matter more than aim.
- No rage. We lose a lot of drops and laugh about it.
On the night
What a session actually looks like
Mixed squads
We deliberately mix experience levels so newer players learn from the people around them.
Casual first
Public matches, no ranked pressure. Winning is a bonus, not the plan.
Game hopping
If the evening turns sour we switch to something co-op instead of grinding through it.
“My best match of the night was the one where we all died in the first thirty seconds.”
